Do you want to make God Laugh?

There is an old saying, “Do you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.”  Take 2-mins to look at the weekend ahead of you, the next week or month that is ahead of you. How many “plans” do you have?  Are you ready for a “plan-b,c,d…”  you know its coming and plans will need to be changed or altered when you least expect it and undoubtedly when its the least convenient!

Such is the case with Abram in today’s podcast Pray as you go June 27th  Abram is now 99-years old and the only son he has was born via Haggar a handmaid to Sarah.  At the age of 99 and 90, Abram is told that his wife is going to bear a child. Of course Abram has many questions, one of them most likely being why NOW? I’m settled in my home, i’m settled in my ways and I’m too tired to chase a toddler all over Canan.

God had a very specific plan for Abram and Sarah, just as he has a plan for each one of us. Sometimes we may not feel like there is a plan for ourselves and our families, so we go about life making plans that we think will create a stable future for ourselves and our families and out of nowhere God pulls a fast one on us, something we undoubtedly never saw coming because we were busy making plans.

I invite you to spend a few minutes with Sarah and Abraham, see how their lives changed in an instant because they believe and trusted in their God instead of making plans.
