Welcome to Walk. Build. Proclaim

Beth and I (Tracy) would like to say Hello to any new readers, followers via the 2013 WordCount Blogathon. We are so excited to be part of this blogging challenge 2013 WordCount Blogathon #blog2013(At least I am. I think Beth is wondering what I got us into ūüôā )

We wanted to take a minute to introduce ourselves and give you a glimpse into what Walk. Build. Proclaim is and where it started.

First things first. Beth Lee is a very good friend of mine. We met each other more than ten years ago at a West Bend (WI) Mom of Twins group. Beth has 12 year old identical boys, Jack & Justin. I have 11 year old Boy-Girl Twins. Nick and Grace.  Believe it or not, this blog has very little to do with raising twins!

The idea from this blog came from the very first homily of Pope Francis on March 14th, 2013, when he told the Cardinals that their job was to Walk. Build. Proclaim. I thought to myself that is everyone’s job! We are all called to Walk. Build. Proclaim regardless of our faith tradition.

I pitched the idea to Beth, asked her if she’d use her writing and editing background to be the editor of this blog. She agreed and we quickly became¬†collaborating¬†moms.¬†Each week we’ve explored a topic related to faith, life, kids, scripture etc. I’ve had a great time writing this blog and exploring different topics.

I (Tracy) have spent 17-years in Youth, Young Adult, Adult Ministry in the Milwaukee Archdiocese. I have an undergrad and grad degree in Religious Studies from Cardinal Stritch and Edgewood College. My ministry interests include; Scripture, Ecumenical & Interfaith Relations and Service Experiences.

Beth is a writer-editor and is very generous with her time and my sporadic thoughts. Beth holds a Bachelor degree in English  from UW РMilwaukee and a Masters in Writing from Northern Michigan University. Her interests include reading, boating, snowmobiling, hiking with her dog, raising her kids and spending time with her family.

Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, we are excited to be part of this challenge and look forward to learning and growing in the blogging world.

This first week we are going to explore different aspects of prayer. What does it mean to Walk Humbly with Our God?  Prayers of Gratitude, Kneeling with Giants, Music and Praying in Color.

Thank You to all our early adopters of this blog for your support. To our new readers, we hope that we inspire you to find new ways to Walk. Build. Proclaim in your lives and communities.

Tracy & Beth

P.S. Be sure to check out some of the other blogging participants in the 2013 WordCount Blogathon. This isn’t as easy as it looks, and you never know what you might learn!! #blog2013
